Another save question (game saves work, but not zsts)

Post by kyo-KUSANAGI »

I have a CVS version of ZSNES. it says June 1 2005. I copied my roms over to this machine, everything, made sure the folder is read/write (I'm root anyway, troubleshooting stuff like this) and then I find out that the saves when you use the game to save work, but not the zst f2 savestates. It's really confusing, because Config>Paths says SAVES, but it doesn't say which kinda saves.
I left the savestate line in zsnesl.cfg blank, because it says if you want the saves in the same dir as the ROMs, make it blank. I did, but it still looks from /root/.zsnes instead. I know that, because I press F2, and in .zsnes a zst appears.
Trying out the latest CVS zsnes, hope this is fixed.
EDIT: didn't work, still appends the /root/.zsnes whenever the line is blank. Oh well. I'll just move all my saves to a dedicated folder.

On Linux blank means ~/.zsnes
If you want it somewhere else, specify it.

Also, please don't use root unless absolutely necessary [use sudo <cmd> instead].

OK, Nach, so how do you say you want the saves to be in the same folder as the ROMs? ".", and "./" don't work

Give it the full path to the ROM directory. For some reason which I never looked into, *nix doesn't like relative paths.
