Error with no mouse attached

Post by mox »

I'm trying to make a pc into an snes console, with just controllers. No keyboard / mouse... but when i boot up without a mouse attached I get a direct x "direct input" error, on every game zsnesw loads.

But I'm not using the mouse for anything and have the gui turned off.. Whats the deal or a way around this?

Danke.

Get a SNES game that uses a mouse and you have an excuse for using it.

...Don't newer controllers come with keymapping software which will allow you to emulate a mouse by using your controller? :?
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

I have just gutted a keyboard and rewired it to the PC, was going to use only the ESC button and wire it as the reset on my case. You could do the same with a mouse. (put one in your pc, well the good bits out the mouse anyhoo)

Make sure you are using the latest Direct X version.
Try out CCleaner and other free software at Piriform

i'm pretty sure the most up to date direct x is installed. Has anyone tried booting a machine without a mouse and using zsnesw?
