[BUG] Chrono Trigger Intro

For some reason part of CT's intro is not filtered:

1) I open CT, screen got black and filtered info was show.
2) Filter passed away and info was no longer filtered
3) That thing start swinging and letter C comes out (still no filter)
4) Filter kicks in just as other letters start coming out of that big C

If you have hi-res Mode 7 enabled, disable it.

That did it, thanks. Just to be sure, does CT need Hi-Res mode 7?

Nothing NEEDS Hi-Res Mode 7. It's just a way to get a slight quality boost, albeit at the expense of filters.

Now, Snes9x has a hi-res mode 7 option which actually uses bilinear filtering on the mode 7 effects. It looks really nice.

The Interpolation filter (and the others?) doesn't work on a hi-res Mode7 screen. So when the game switches to Mode7, your filter is not executed.

The pendulum's swinging is realized in Mode7, and screen with the moving text is in Mode2.
