Mandrake 10 opengl and audio problems

Post by watchitman »

ZSNES always worked beautifully under Mandrake 9.1 and 9.2 with the opengl video modes. I recently did a clean install of Mandrake 10, using the 2.4.25 kernel (my Wacom tablet doesn't like the 2.6 kernel) and the OSS drivers (ALSA has never worked properly with my Ensoniq soundcard). Now, when I use any ogl video mode the sound becomes really choppy and the gui framerate drops and the cursor is difficult to control. Anyone know anything about this, have similar problems, know how to fix it (other than going back to Mandrake 9.2)?

Fucking smart ass. There is only one driver for my video card - the NVidia Linux driver.

Remember this thread next time you politely ask for help and get shitty remarks in return. I'm sure you evil nerds will pat each other on your virtual backs for being such clever little toads and dismiss me as somehow being the one at fault. Whatever you tell yourselves, the fact is you're assholes.

Have a nice day now!

And the fact is your symptoms indicate that the issue is your software configuration. Horrible performance of the type you describe is likely an issue with your OpenGL config; it sounds like your drivers are improperly installed and software rendering is being used.

So go fix your computer.

And then there's the fact that someone actually giving you advice, ie: Install the proper drivers, was met with the response 'Fucking smart ass.' Explain why we should help you? And use small words; apparently we're stupid.
