Sooper Noobeh. -.- (saving?)

Post by Oisterboy »

Okay, I read the FAQ and other files about 10 times. *sigh* But eh, can you SAVE games? I have 55 ROMs, and some of them are RPG's! I cant restart every time I wanna play...I found something that says save, but I dont get it. When I save in-game, it dosent register correctly. The games play fine, and this is some wonderful software, but I just cant find how to save.

If in-game saves don't work, enable SRAM Check+Save (Save options) and try again. If you want to use savestates, press F2 during game. If it still doesn't work, chances are that Windows is keeping the save folder read-only, thus rendering any SRAM or savestate writes useless.

If you are playing your games from a cd, you must create a directory in zsnes to place your saves in your Harddrive. Or you could just copy the games into the harddrive.

Okay, here are the steps I am following, tell me where I am going wrong:

1. Hit escape.
2. Click game.
3. Go to 'Pick State'
4. Choose '0' and hit enter.
5. Go to Save State.
6. Close game.
7. Re-open game.
8. Click Open State.

Oooh shoot. Its working now. Haha. Now, there are...9 slots, is that 9 slots for every game, or 9 slots all together?

10 saveslots for each game (0-9). You don't have to pick a save slot each time you save, unless you want to save in different slots. Slot 0 is default.

Using in game saves as opposed to save states is reccomended if possible, to avoid problems. :D

Also if you plan on using states, stop using the GUI stuff and use the F2 (save in selected slot)/F3 (select a slot)/F4 (load selected slot) default shortcuts.
The F3 menu features a preview picture display, good to remember where you saved the state.
