lots of controllers = trouble

i apologise in advance if this is counted as double posting, but this doesn't seem to be getting much attention in the controller forum and i have given it several months.

i'll just say i'm a long term fan of zsnes and its the most used app on my htpc setup.

the problem is, because of this, i can't have all the controllers plugged in. constantly un/re-plugging controllers makes a huge mess as the IDs change, so basically this is making the system unusable as a gaming machine atm.

i'm very much hoping for a solution or advice on workaround. partly i also blame Microsoft for not providing a proper consistent way of ordering USB HID controllers and preserving IDs (or if there is one, i haven't found it).

I know you haven't gotten much help in the other forum, but this won't help, and is rude.

Since I'm a nice guy, I won't lock the other thread for bumping. I won't say anything about the other mods, though.
