I would like to suggest control schemes.
For example, most megaman-style games use the same basic controls, so I would in my example, create a scheme called "megaman" then if I'm playing a megaman-style game, instead of re-configuring the controls, I'd click schemes, select my "megaman" scheme and it'd auto-reconfigure the controls to match that scheme, and then if I were to play and RPG, I could select my "RPG" scheme and it'd change the controls to what I'd use for that type of game.
[request] control schemes

Honestly, do SNES games need controller schemes so badly?
I would understand control schemes in N64 emulators, because of the shape of the N64 pad and the button placement, but not SNES.
Regardless, the way the GUI is now, I think you'd need to wait for an indeterminable amount of time before you can have controller schemes.

I would think it would depend on what controller/ joystick you happen to be using. I actually had a VB program to swap out ZSNES.cfg files a while back, when I used a full-size joystick to play. When I got a gamepad, though, it became unneccassary.
Maybe it would be a good idea when the GUI becomes more editable, making implementation easier.

That would be the thing as I use a keyboard :pkevman wrote:I would think it would depend on what controller/ joystick you happen to be using. I use a keyboard too, but I still don't think SNES games need schemes so badly. Get a pad if it bothers you.Trel wrote:That would be the thing as I use a keyboard :pkevman wrote:I would think it would depend on what controller/ joystick you happen to be using. You could also buy one of those programmable keyboards, and then you could use it for more than just ZSNES, use it for any of your games or programs.

you just haven't found a good keyboard config. Mega Man games can remap their controls, you know.
Radioshack sells a PSX-to-USB adapter with vibration functions for $10 or something, if you have a ps controller you can do that (or pick up an old ps1 controller for 5 bucks), it's almost identical to an snes controller.

To truly own, you must own at all games.
