You don't have any tranlating skills skills whatsoever, but you'd like someone to translate a whole game for you?
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

Hahaha Your newbish concepts are quite entertaining. :) It's not 1997 anymore. Nobody plays the game and writes down the entire script.

The romhacker will 'dump' the script from the game. That means you will find a way to extract all the text from a game into nice neat text files for a translator to have and translate and give back to you.

Then you will 'insert' the files back into the game.

I'll give you another hint. Translators are scarce. They aren't going to waste their time with just anybody. If you want one, you need to demonstrate WHY someone should help YOU.

Show that you are capable of hacking the game in question. Proof is required. To do this you'll need to hack some English into the game and show screenshtos demonstrating this. Maybe even a small menu patch or something. You'll likely need a website set up for this.

Many translators do not wish to waste their time translating a script if they are not convinced you will see the project to completion or you do no have the hacking ability to do it. You need to show them you have both.

I used to do that even before 1997... I translated "Secret of Mana" into Spanish in 1995; it was 7 years later when I got the proper skills to dump, insert an hack the ROM. :D
But never give up!

Right. I used 1997 because I think that was around the time when romhackers first got talented enough to actually dump the script from a game rather than translate it in a hex editor or by hand.. From that point on, nobody translated scripts by writing them down aside from a few folks on Gamefaqs here and there.

When the Mario Hack craze started in 1996, I don't recall anyone having ever dumped a script yet.
