Hi guys. I have a little problem with ZSnes, I just can't make it work with zipped roms. When i double click on a zipped rom (i zipped it myself) it just goes to the main screen and do nothing at all. If i unzip it manually and load it i have no problems. I've tried zipping it with winrar, winzip, and pkzip. And i think i've tried all the compression methods available (even making it compatible with the old DOS pkzip). I've tried the same zipped files with other Snes emulators and they worked... is there any concideration that i should have in mind when compressing a rom so that ZSnes would be able to unzip it?
I'm really clueless here...
I'm running win xp and the HD is NTFS formatted if that is of any help... (I know you would probably say why dont i just compress the roms folder with NTFS compression algorithm, well, that's a good idea, but the thing is, I want to burn all my roms in a CD...)
Maybe I'm stupid or then you're too vague... Are you trying to load the zip archive from ZSNES' Load window?
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on? sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

I open ZSnes, click game, load, I browse to where the zipped rom is, doubleclick the zipped rom and it goes back to the main screen. It doesn't unzip or load the rom...

Sorry If I give you a cookie cutter answer, but, do you have the latest WIP? If not, download it and do a fresh install (don't use your old .cfg files)

umm, excuse my ignorance, but, what's WIP?... I just downloaded the zsnes emulator...

ZSNES would probably just pick the first rom in the archive anyway. So that can't be the problem.
Nach wrote:From what I can tell, ZSNES' unique idea of extracting to a temp directory and running from there wasn't working for you due to a permissions problem.
I have modified ZSNES several months back to decompress to RAM, so as you can see, the WIP works.
Just another tidbit for things you should know about ZSNES (TM).
Super! Great work Nach!
/me gives two thumbs up to Nach.
jk about the sarcasm.
