BS Zelda problems

I got a BS Zelda Rom with a tranlsation patched already patched to it. I'm using version 1.42

The game loads fine but when I go to register my name there are no letters in the registration screen.

Is this something with the rom, or is there some fucntion in the GUI that I need to adjust?

Any help would be appreciated
