DirectDraw Error

Post by nelsonscolumn »

I did a quick search for this to see if I could find someone else having the same problem, I'm running directx 9, and my graphics card has the newest drivers.

When I launch Zsnes I get the following error

Image

Its comes up behind the main window and the main window is just black with the annoying windows "I'm doing something" hourglass

I've tried it on 2 pcs and get the same problem with both of them

1 is a AMD 64 3400, with 512 meg of ram

the other is

A P4 2.2 With 512 Meg Of Ram

Really hope i can get this to work, as there are so many games i've managed to get hold of that I'd love to play again

Many thanks in advance for any advice u can give me[/img]

What videocard do you own?

... Anyway, try changing your desktop color to 16-bit. If that doesn't work, try deleting your config files.

There have been reports of ZSNES diving a DirectDraw error message on systems that use DirectX 9. This has noting to do with the configuration files, but hell, you can just try.

Delete zsnesw.cfg and zguicfg.dat

There is no good way of fixing this, other than trying to reinstall DirectX.

Cheers for the quick replies lads - it was the config files that it mustn't have liked as deleteing them solved the problem.

Could it be that as it was downloaded as a torrent with a load of rom that the other persons config wasn't compatable with my system?

Well, you shouldn't even use the ZSNES version included with the roms. It could be outdated. Next time, get ZSNES from http://www.zsnes.com.
