Keyboard is sluggish to respond then overcompensates

Gamepad acting up? Keyboard not responding properly? Can't get that other user to work? Read and post about it here.

Keyboard is sluggish to respond then overcompensates

Post by J44xm »

I can't use the keyboard on my laptop in ZSNES because the program seems to be intermittently accepting commands from it. If I use it, often key presses will not be registered; it will take a full second of hold down the key before it's registered, and then ZSNES registers the full second of key-pressing at once. (So if I'm playing, say, Tetris, the blocks will suddenly move all the way to the side of the playing area.) This doesn't happen with gamepads.

I can't find any information on this problem, which leads me to believe that it's uncommon, which thereby leads me to believe that this might be some sort of settings issue, perhaps. (If requested, I will post my settings here.) Also leading me to this conclusion is that this happens on other computers as well when I use my my portable copy of ZSNES.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using the latest official ZSNES version? Are there any programs running in the background?

Actually, I was (stupidly, I readily admit) using v1.36. I downloaded the latest WIP and that might have fixed the problem. I'll give it some time and report back if there's any trouble. Sorry 'bout that.

No need to be sorry about anything.
