Tetris Butou Gaiden

Post by J44xm »

I upgraded to both the latest stable and the latest WIP versions from v1.36 and have found that "Tetris Butou Gaiden" will no longer load correctly. Upon an attempt to load, I get a black screen; if I load my save state, it comes up but the controls are dead and the screen corrupts after about 30 to 60 seconds (see the screenshot below). Suggestions?

Wow, that reminds me of "The Matrix."
Anyhoo, scan your ROM using NSRT and report back.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?
NSRT here.

Thank you. Here's the basic info, which is, I hope, what you meant:

Code: Select all

NSRT v3.3 RC2 - Nach's SNES ROM Tools

---------------------Internal ROM Info----------------------
       File: Tetris Butou Gaiden.sfc
Name: TETRIS BATTLE GAIDEN Company: Bullet-Proof Software
     Header: Exists (type?) Bank: LoROM
Interleaved: No SRAM: 0 Kb
       Type: Normal ROM: 8 Mb
    Country: Japan Video: NTSC
ROM Speed: 120ns (FastROM) Revision: 1.0
   Checksum: Corrupt, Bad 0x0742 CRC32: 4B8CB7E5
--------------------------Database--------------------------
ROM wasn't found in the database (possible bad dump).
You can try using -fix or -findover to see if the
file has been slightly altered and rectifiable.

Yes, that's the right info. Note it says that the ROM wasn't found in the database - that most likely means it's a bad or hacked dump.

Try running

nsrt -fix "Tetris Butou Gaiden.sfc"

Always get rom images with good checksums. Verified good dumps are the way to go ([!]).
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

Thanks, all! By the way, in the latest WIP, I can't find a way to back the game up. This, er, DOES still exist, right?

Yes, rewinding. Why I couldn't think of that, I don't know. Thanks to all.
