Key Combo help

I'm having trouble getting the key combo function to work. I'm trying to use it for the Hadoken in Megaman X, but I can't get it to work right. The combo is down, down-forward, forward, Y. I've tried things like press down, press right, release down, release right, press and release Y, but it doesn't work. Any advice?

Are you putting any delays in that? Sometimes you need to put a couple frames in between keypresses. I noticed this for a few games. Try that and see if it helps.
