Do you actually have the save files on you hard drive (srm, zst or both)?
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

Do you have save slot 0 selected when you attempt to load the state? Is your Zsnes executable also located on the desktop?

It's probably attempting to load "final fantasy 3.zst" instead (which is by default). Try to rename the file extension (.zs1) to (.zst) and see if that helps. I don't understand though why the first save has the extension .zs1 (this is slot 1) though. Normally it would save to with the .zst extension (Slot 0) unless you accidentally hit F3 and changed the savestate slot by accident... whatever...

Try this, for kicks if nothing else:

1. Put Zsnes in a new directory (like c:\zsnes\
2. Put your FF3 rom into the same folder
3. Put the save state in the same folder and make sure it'shas the same filename as the rom (e.g. Ff3.smc <-> Ff3.zst)
4. Start ZSNES and load the rom --> Load the state by pressing F4.

Put Zsnes in a new directory (like c:\zsnes\
Note: zsnesw.exe is the only file you need to move (assuming you're using ZSNES Windows)

I think the problem stems probably from recently upgrading ZSNES.. or using one of the WIPs that there are now... (incompatible .dat and .cfg files are being run)

How did you "fix" it, if I may ask?

I think he took my "renaming the file extension" suggestion.. because by default, ZSNES loads Slot 0 (.zst).

Then again, I don't know how he saved in the first place (he probably selected Slot 1 by accident, and then saved).
