Chrono Trigger sound glitch at the beginning "ocean win

This bug has been in zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to learn the name of the emulator) for years now. When the camera is panning over the ocean at the very start and you hear the sound of the wind, instead of the gentile "shushing", it becomes very grungy and mechanical sounding. Is this being worked on at all? Maybe this is that Square RAPE sound thing you all mentioned before..not sure.

The beginning of the game, just before Chrono's mother wakes him up?

I compared the sound of the game being played on the latest WIP of ZSNES with the sound of it being played on a real SNES. To me, they sound terribly similar, listened to with headphones hooked up to an amp that both the SNES and PC are connected to. The sound from the SNES is only slightly better in this case. By the way, I think that is supposed to sound like waves crashing on the beach, not wind.

There are still a few sound effects that sound significantly different depending on whether they are played by ZSNES or the actual hardware. Among them are the "scream" monsters make when battles begin.

Pagefault knows about these and probably will fix them some day.

OMG, the beginning of the end of the Square Rape? Awesome.. oh wait.. you still have to release the build

Although, it's nice to know the majority of the sounds involved in the Square Rape have been "better" for the most part. I look forward to this build.

Yes I am hoping this fixes it. It's a bug in the way pitch modulation is done internally some sounds cause the internal buffer to "overflow" and cause the sound not to be reproduced properly. This often happens on sounds that repeat and play over and over again.

I know this is off topic but how come almost every new member to the board says "(btw I have beans for brains)"? They all type it the exact same way. Makes me think they are either the same person or like some type of bot or something.

That's because tey misspell the emulator's name and then the word filter kicks in.

zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to learn the name of the emulator), without the interpolation, converts to "zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to learn the name of the emulator)", hence why they almost all do it.

Though I was under the impression that fixing these issues would require a total rewrite of the Zsnes timing system (unless you intended to just use hacks)
