Proposal regarding the future of ZSNES

Post by Conduit »

I am proposing that ZSNES be made a shareware product available for $49.95 (United States Dollar). This product has reached a mature level where it should become a commercial product.

The shareware version should have the limitation of only running a game for four ("4") minutes, no sound, and cannot save.

I am a representative of a company that offers a revolutionary anti-piracy scheme that can be easily inserted into most source codes written in mainstream languages. So far, this protection scheme has NOT been successfully cracked. Any attempt to run a modified executible results in the application uninstalling itself. I offer a very low price for this for the ZSNES product, but it must be priced $49.95 or more.

Contact me using the e-mail I registered with for further details.

Can there be an auto-ban with this kind of request?

Last I checked.. the last SNES emulator that had this happen.. it did a horrible death, especially because it was inferior ...

Also, the freaking thing is open sourced..

Mature product? Debatable.. especially with certain features in the newer versions break compatibility with the old..

This idea to profit will fail miserably. Thanks for playing the game.

OMG, what a dumb topic. People would just forget zsnes and go to another emulator if it started to cost money.

Locked. If a dev really wants to discuss this, he'll get in contact with you, but don't count on it.

If we wanted to do such a thing, I think we're skilled enough to make our own anti-piracy scheme so we don't have to share the profits with anybody.

Wow, this is must be a first in the history of ZSNES (or the ZBoard at least).

What a retard.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.
