First Joypad working fine,but cannot set keys for second on

Gamepad acting up? Keyboard not responding properly? Can't get that other user to work? Read and post about it here.

First Joypad working fine,but cannot set keys for second on

Hello everybody,

Since Zsnes is a great emulator, I wanted to bring a little trick that I just found, in case you have the pb described in the subject of this post.

I have two usb Saitek p880 and in the GUI, it was impossible for me to set keys for the second pad. Here is what I did :

- Open "zsnesw.cfg" in notepad.

The following lines interest us :
----------------------------------
Player1Device = 1
Player2Device = 0
----------------------------------

I don't know why but the only thing you have to do is to set the second device to "1"

Save the file, close it, restart Zsnes, and you should now be able to set leys for your second pad !
Have fun now playing with friends !!

Bye Bye

Emmanuel

Some other guy found a similar solution: http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5044
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

You couldn't figure out the GUI because it is still not very user-friendly. To do this without editing the configuration file, just go to CONFIG>INPUT #2 and select "KEYB/GAMEPAD" instead of "NONE". Click "SET" to enable the pad before configuring buttons.

ZSNES is set to emulate a disconnected controller by default. There are probably some games that force you into a two-player mode if a second controller is detected. Some games (including Super Mario World) will allow you to use a single controller for two players if it senses that the second controller socket does not have a device attached.
