Gamepad acting up? Keyboard not responding properly? Can't get that other user to work? Read and post about it here.

smart joy plus compatibility?

Post by jimfear »

Wondering if you can get a smart joy plus to work with zsnes. The joypad config screen seems to recognize my button input when i assign the buttons on my ps2 dualshock controller, but once i'm in the game, it don't do jack. anyone have any words of wisdom for me? They would be greatly appreciated.

have you pressed 'Set' after selecting keyb/joypad for Input#1?
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

thanks to the one person who actually considered the topic. Guys, I really don't care about the avatar, or if it's too big. And yes, i did press set after inputting all the buttons. but i can try again.

There is a size limit for avatars so many of us do care.

Yeah, but it's obvious they took it down for being too big. So now I don't have one, don't care, and everyone can move on from this nonsense. Now to continue with the issue, After i press set keys, input the keys for each command, and press set, it converts them back to the default keys. So it recognizes that i'm pressing buttons on the controller, and it recognizes the difference in each button, but then resets them when i press the set button.
once again, and feedback or wisdom is really appreciated.

Ok. Got it to work. Still not exactly sure how, I believe i started with no inputs for the buttons, inputting each button (not the set keys button) and then NOT pressing set afterwards, just reentering the game. I dunno, it was weird, but it works, so nevermind!

Yeah... You always need to press the set button *before* setting the keys, pressing set will reset it. Like if you wanted to set it again.
