Flashing During A Flashback Scene??

Post by Deathlike2 »

In CT, a cutscene after Chrono and the others show him the Masamune (and they goto sleep)... the scene in the castle has... a lot of "flashing" (the screen continues to switch between bright and dark). This scene doesn't seem to occur in Snes9x.. though I'm asking as to whether or not this actually occurs in the original game... and whether or not this is a "bug" in either ZSNES or Snes9x...

I am using the the 11/26/05 WIP...

This one?

IMO that's intentional, though I never played the game on a real SNES...

Well I remember the original game all too clearly and of course it was in there. Either your ROM dump, or Snes9x has a few screws loose. Possibly both.

I would assume from looking at that screenshot that it's a lighting effect.. Sort of giving a bit of realism to flickering candles in a dark castle, or some such.

Of course, it has been ages since I played the original so I don't know.. But that is certainly what it looks like to me.

Well, the "effect" could give flashing ads a better name for giving seizures

Assuming you guys are right.. this is something emulated in ZSNES that isn't emulated in Snes9x (and Top Gear 3K emulation doesn't count)
