Presenting: www.zsnesonline.com

Post by Metalhead »

Hello all.
I would like to show you all a program a friend of mine has created. It is called zsnesonline. It is a program that allows you to play ZSNES with others without having to type any IP addresses in. Just join a room and play. If you are interested in this program feel free to download.

www.zsnesonline.com

This link is NOT hentai, porn, voting, or anything else like that. It is a clean website I made in a matter of 2 days. Heh. Anyways, feel free to test and we'll welcome you when you come.

This is excellent! I haven't tried a game yet, but I hope to soon. I will mention this program in the ZSNES documentation.

After further examination, I have noticed that you are able to get roms from this site. So give me a good reason to keep the thread, or I will delete it. Giving links to places where you can get roms is against the rules.

Now, please explain yourself.

I noticed it too, but come on, give it a rest. I guess it's not really that obvious. Who knows, they might not even be offering commercial ROMs. ;)

Those are some nice coding skills they have to come up with a program like this, and I'm sure many ZSNES users will enjoy the program.

Sorry, I didn't meant to do that, if that's what it looked like.

Well, Xamenus/Icefox/whoever used rolleyes, so I take it as sarcasm.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

Well, although the site does seem to offer ROMs, I guess we have to draw the line somewhere on which sites should be removed and which shouldn't. I agree that blatant ROM sites should be removed, but not helpful, contributing sites like this one. Of course, this is just my opinion.

If you still think zsnesonline.com should remove their ROMs (and yeah, they probably should), I think I probably would have just PM'ed them about it instead of posting about it in this thread. ;) It prevents more resentment that way, IMO. ;)

Um, I didn't find any ROMs on the site.

As for how we draw the line, we don't agree to linking to ROM sites. However if the site has links to ROM sites, but that's not the main purpose of the site, that's fine.

We provided those roms because when users were to search for them, they wouldn't run into the risk of having to vote or download porn, and they would get the exact rom that as in the catalog, as you all know there are different specifics to all roms out there. The private site has been taken down. I'm sorry for any inconvenience

May I suggest something? Why not make the ROMs in the ROM catalog match the ROMs in the NSRT database (provided that Nach is OK with that)?

:)

looks like zConnector to me. ;)

rom catalog seems nice... i know there was a mess-ass list of multiplayer roms floating around.

eh whatever. zConnector is up to a whopping 7 members right now.

Does it require any port forwarding besides TCP/UDP port 7845? The manual didn't say.

We have a total of 69 registered accounts...
And yes it is only 7845 TCP.

the site wrote:Please note that if you do find links that host ROMS, you may be subject to material or ads that may be inappropriate for younger internet viewers, e.g. links to hentai, porn, warez, or other illegal activites. The ZSNES Online staff are not responsible for these sites and by viewing them, you agree that you are aware of the possibility that this material may exist on their servers. PLEASE DO NOT search for ROMS at all if you do not want to be subject to such material. Thank you and have fun.
since when was warez innappropritate for young kids ? :?

also, isn't downloading ROMs a form of warez in itself ? :P
