How to use USB joypad?

Gamepad acting up? Keyboard not responding properly? Can't get that other user to work? Read and post about it here.

uh...? What useless information?

Anyway, you use a USB joystick like any other joystick. Press set, then the button/axis you want on the joystick. Not hard.

Pretty simple really. Plug it in, open ZSNES, configure the input #1 with Set Keys in Config and thats it.

I think he's saying that he downloaded ZSNES from Zophar's, which is blasphemous. :P

As for up/down/left/right, try enabling digital mode on your device (or disable it if it was enabled already).

First, try your game controller in the Windows Game Controllers test app in control panel. If it doesn't work there, chances are it won't work in other apps too.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

After thinking on this some. I think I know what is going on. I know older versions of zsnes did not read the digipad of some controllers. One model that did this was my axis pad. Windows recognized it as a hat switch, and lots of games would not use it as they wanted input from the directionals. I'd suggest to him to try the latest wip.

The Windows version uses DirectInput API and does not care whether you assign directional controls to a button, hat switch, throttle, or axis.

Saitek USB Gamepad

Post by Toobis »

I'm having a similar problem.. I have a Saitek Gamepad (P220) for USB, but when I try to use it in the program, it won't read any of the buttons. I tried it out in control panel, and everything seems to work in there. Why doesn't ZSNES see it?

Thanks
