zsnes 1.36 sound problems.
I have win 2000 and downloaded the dos version of 1.36. When i tried to load it it kept saying unable to enable sound. I'm pretty sure it was the soud blasters. I've seen this problem on a topic be4 but didn't pay attention to it. Can some1 help me fix this.
Zsnes is by FAR the best emulator ever created!!!

If you're using Windows 2000, why not just get the Windows version of ZSNES ? DOS support in NT kernel windows (NT/2000/XP) sucks, but if you REALLY need a DOS port, why not setup a dual boot between 2000 and DOS ?
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

It's probably some stupid reason like "Yoshi's Island doesn't work in 1.42."Agozer wrote:Why in the internet's name would you use such an archaic version? It boggles my mind.pharaoh0927 wrote:i dont like 1. 42 that much, I'll just download 1.36 win version.

More stable netplay would be a better reason.

For some reason, this quote gives me the impression that 1.36 is still better for netplay. 1.36 may have less features than 1.42n, but if I'm just interested in netplay, I personally could probably live without them.grinvader wrote:1.42n is a "somewhat better version that will desync slightly less than the regular one."

No, it's just that almost evryone on zbattle use 1.36. And also Zsnes windows version lags on this comp for a reason or another. It is only a pentium 1. Don't laugh, my dad wont let me download or install anything on his computer which is a P4.

I can't help but wonder why you're running Win2K on a P1 in the first place.pharaoh0927 wrote:No, it's just that almost evryone on zbattle use 1.36. Actually, I once ran Windows 2000 on my Pentium MMX 200MHz box... ran Jnes on it... still got a whopping 60 frames.. Also ran Super Mario World on it (using Snes9X v1.39, iirc) and got 20fps, which is about normal for it.
of course, there were times when svchost.exe skyrocketed to the max and used up all my CPU time though..
