It did sound alot like the Black Mages version, but comparing it, I could hear some missed notes by the guitarist, but I agree, its probably not nearly as impressive without the background music...

He's not bad at all. He is mainly a rhythm guitarist, telling from his picking technique, probably that's causing him to miss some notes.
The backing track mainly worked as a drum machine and some cover-up for the overall impression. By doing some basic shredding practice, the result would be outstanding.

Holy fuck dr_slump, that guy is good.
Check out his arrangement of Clash on the Big Bridge

Check out that sweep picking and that succession triplet pull-offs in the middle. Fucking crazy
He recorded all of the tracks himself (well, the drums sound like they're done with a drum machine, but the rest is all guitar with various effects).
I just don't understand how he was able to sync the camera with the recording so well.

I cried when I heard it.... though I didn't catch on until about 2:00 into the music...
Jikmo... That was incredible but it almost looked liek he copied and pasted himself doing parts of it because he kept messing up? lol Still awesome nonetheless.

Professional recordings are almost never done in a single take either. Typically, they'll keep rerecording everything until they get it right, especially when it comes to guitar solos.LobStar wrote:Thats very beautifuldr_slump wrote:He's not bad at all. You can tell that he's recording his onto an 8-track or something, and making a video of it at the same time. After piecing the tracks together, he went back and pieced the videos together and synced them with the music. I saw a video where he cut and switched to a different track but didnt switch the video right away.
Anyway, that's how almost all music has been recorded since the late 60s or so (they started recording on magnetic tape in... I want to say the early 60s, then started using them to record and edit with multiple tracks, add effects, etc a few years later)
