Star Ocean 1: The First Departure and Star Ocean 2: The Second Evolution, remakes of the first and second Star Ocean games, are headed for...

I'm planning on getting a PSP sometime soon, anyhow. I have yet to buy a next-gen console, but I'll have the two handhelds at least.

Fuck yes - the PSP (and DS to some extent) are the only ways I have time to play these days. I'm in need of some portable RPG love, and it just so happens that I've never played either of these games.

Looks like they'll be using SO2's battle system in SO1. That's a good thing.

Hopefully they won't gut the overworld design into something more akin to SO2, though.

That's great for bugfixing purposes, but that'll bring more fools here thinking Star Ocean was perfect from the get go.

I want to buy a PSP but I'm worried about the PSP 2.0 rumors

I wouldn't want to get the obsolete version if a new one is around the corner.

Bite the bullet and get one, I'm very glad I did. I wasn't going to for the same reason you're thinking of, but then they came out with the hack that lets you rip and play PSX games, and that was that. Best purchase ever.

maybe it's the psp's shitty graphics, but that dude with blue hair looks like he was drawn in ms paint. it looks fake to me.

It's got nothing to do with the PSP(besides, how hard is it to throw up a bitmap?).
It's just REALLY bad character art.

I blame the original ingame sprite designer then. Ratix' hair was blue alright, but Milly's always looked chestnut to me.

I dunno, the PSP has been looking nicer and nicer lately. With the various emulation possibilities thrown into the mix along with the FF Tactics redo, plus the few older PSP titles that I was interested in (WipEout, Every Extend) it's really starting to look like a system to own.
