New Smash Bros Site Launch

Post by Panzer88 »

That's right, the official Nintendo, Hal Lab, and Sora production site of Smash Bros Brawl has been updated, and the main developer says he will be periodically updating it now (for real this time ;) ) so anyways, enjoy.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/index.html

*UPDATE*

ok so basically it starts with the basics of what smash bros is which most of us already know, the concept of smash, what type of level battlefield is etc.

but then you scroll down and this is what blew me away, the people contributing to the music in this game!!!

not to mention Uematsu on the main theme. It also causes me to speculate if some of the games some of these people have been involved in might have a character from that game coming to smash bros, it's always a possibility. They have a sample of "menu 1" on the site, so you might want to check it out. composed by Hirokazu Ando of Smash Bros and Kirby fame and arranged by Motoi Sakuraba who has done everything from the "Tales of" games to Golden Sun to Shining Force to Star Ocean, Valkerie Profile, Baiten Kaitos, Mario Golf and Tennis, etc.

the game also boasts a day to night system, we'll see how more ties in later in future updates. PARTY ON!

I'm very surprised at the amount of guest composers making music in the game. I wonder what Mitsuda is composing in the game...

Now I wait with "cautious optimism".

Maybe it's just that they list the original composers, and that they really had nothing to do with this game.

The Game Arts composers have got me really suspicious and giddy at the same time.

looks like they really are planning on posting some kind of update most weekdays. Today we got a Mario and Link Character bio. Yay ;) but as soon as we run out of known characters than things will get interesting. And even characters that we know will be in there, it will be interesting to see their new look.

What I don't get is why they haven't shown Variasuit Samus yet, ZeroSuit Samus's moveset is fundamentally different so I imagine that they will have both, and as separate characters.

I also wonder if they are going to drop any characters, I'd be happy if they loose ole' Captain Falcon but that prolly won't happen, also give Ganondorf a freaking sword.

Indeed. That's what I'm waiting on, a full character roster.
Pleasepleaseplease put Sonic in there! Give us the bloodshed we've been demanding for over a decade!

Fuck the Varia.
I demand more use of the NON-UPGRADED Power Suit.

I'm a bit... confused.

They've only uploaded two characters... If they'll upload everything BEFORE release... how much time is left for the game to be released?

Metroid has no sticky bombs. It just bears a slight resemblance to a variation of Samus' morph ball, but it couldn't actually be that, makes no sense. :p

Yes, the spider ball is a variation of Samus' morph ball, that's what I meant.

But it's not a bomb.

And it wouldn't be that small.

And it would make no sense if Samus was playing on the playing field....and sticking to herself and other players in the mean time....possibly multiple times. :?

friends, I know what a spider ball is, from Metroid, that was not the nature of my question. The question was supposed to convey "spiderball, what are you talking about? since when was there any news on anything metroid?" now that I look back I was insanely vague.

So did he think it had anything to do with Metroid or the spider ball? I think it is a new item altogether. Maybe he was just randomly expressing his desire for the presence of the spider ball move, but that would give samus a rather unfair advantage.

confusion abounds!

It LOOKS like the Spider Ball. That's the extent of the relation.

But given the spider ball was the best powerup EVER, anything even remotely related is good.

I... see. I guess the visual similarities are lost on me. It would be nice to see some new moves that were actually strategically helpful to the characters. I mean new characters are cool, but new techniques are also cool.

just like Melee added the forward B attack, perhaps Brawl could have a back B attack? I don't know if this would work as people would like to be able to do a forward B attack in the opposite direction quickly, but it is a thought.
