Something wrong with 1.36 and multiplayer

Gamepad acting up? Keyboard not responding properly? Can't get that other user to work? Read and post about it here.

Something wrong with 1.36 and multiplayer

Post by simonkex »

Hi!

I want to play multiplayer with my friend, it worked good
last time i tried. But this time something is wrong with
the controllers. Ive tried like all ways to find out whats
wrong but failed with them all.

The problem is so that when player 1 have "pressed start"
and player 2 need to push start to join the game, it doesnt
work. Rather said any other controller than controller 1
doesnt work at all. Only controller 1 works, the others
doesnt work in anyway with anyone.

What could be wrong? Its only when we play netgames?

Did your friend set-up his controls on his own computer?

Yes, i set input 1 and he set input 2.
I used arrow keys and he used W A S D keys, and
the other keys quite close so we wouldnt get problems
that way.
Still the input 2 gives nothing. We have tried to change
and let one player use both controllers- But we dont get
it to work in any way..

I have a hard time grasping your setup. Are we talking about netplay or multiple users on the same computer?

Please note the number of gamepads you are using, if any.

We are going to play "Netplay".
We are two persons using 2 gamepads.
We are going to play Pocky and Rocky, but
when we are going to select players only gamepad 1
works while gamepad 2 dont. We dont know whats
wrong cause its only when we enter Netplay it gets
messed up. No settings appears to work.

Are both gamepads the same type/make/model?

Have you tried one of you using the keyboard instead?

Well, i guess my english and my explaining aint the best.
By gamepad i ment the configuration of the inputs.
We both only use keyboard, thats why i used Arrow keys
and A W S D keys in my first entry..

Did you make sure on input 2 it didn't say [NONE] ? I had this problem before but i found out that it was what I just stated before. (By [NONE] I mean that one black box with the green letters above the configurations. It should usually say [NONE] and [KEYBOARD], sometimes if you have a computer controller or something - it may say more.)

yes. i though about that to.

We did like this, set up connection, i choosed to
controll both control 1 and 2, set them both to
keyboard and not to that "none" you spoke of.
But still, even thou im the only one using the
controllers, and same settings as in singelplayer
- the secound controller doesnt work in netplay.
Super weard?
