Chrono Trigger on Netplay

Post by Frankiebunny »

Would it work? How could I go about making it fun for two people? Speedrun or something? Would we be able to see each other on the world maps?

1) It would probably work.

2) This game isn't 2 player.

3) What?

4) Yes.

Ahh, thanks for the response! <3 :D

the 3rd question was like, what would we be able to do in a two-player Chrono Trigger? Could we fight enemies together? Or is netplayer essentially useless in Chrono Trigger unless you're challenging a friend to a speedrun (which is basically a race to see who beats the game in the shortest amount of time).

Netplay with Chrono Trigger is useless because it's not a two player game. I don't know how you would use netplay to speedrun challenge a friend.

I guess a normal challenge would work, the two would do a run, then prove who did better (like highest level with lowest time ratio) with a movie file or something. And with a overkill mention, Chrono Trigger is not 2 player and pointless with netplay. Unless you're paranoid and must be sure the guy will not cheat.

Actually despite all things said, Chrono Trigger is great for net play if you would like to start or continue an adventure with someone other than yourself. I actually like taking turns doing quests, battling monsters and stuff. Final Fantasy 3 is good for that also, and other 1 player rpgs or adventure games as well.
