About Star Ocean First departure. (The remake)

Post by Neo Kaiser »

Knowing SE do you think it will ever come here? This remake is a must have for me so I think that if it won't come over here I will import it.

Box Art Screen shot

The 3 Latest Screen Shots

The PSP Bundle.

I don't know why I wanted to make a unnecessary thread like this one as I bet that most ZSNES members are aware and have their eyes on this game so they may know about this already...

For now, you'll need to play the waiting game.

I think SE is to big of a company not to bring stuff over unless it is extremly niche.

yeah but there are some of those PSP games that they haven't brought over and I'm starting to worry, Namco is big and they don't always bring the goods, and SE never bring the Final Mix FF games over from PS2

They dont bring Final Mix's because they're pointless. They're pretty much the US release of the game with a little bit of extra content. I dont even get why those sell in japan. Wtf would you wanna play in english dub?

if that were the case I would rather have them wait a bit longer to add the additional features to the US version before release.

FFX-2 (not the awesomest game) and Kingdom Hearts 2 particularly have a lot of extra content, there is even Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories in 3D included, I know I wish it were translated.

A. Final Mix/International Edition/Whatever the buzzword of the day is usually has added content that ISN'T in the US release(more often than not, the US release is just a translated J launch version).

B. English is cool over there. Why do you think so much engrish exists?
They've actually brought a few english anime dubs back to Japan.

In short: More Star Ocean 3, please.
...
Of course, at the time everyone was bitching about how badly delayed SO3 was.
Then the + version came out in Japan, and all hell broke loose. They had an upgrade and we still didn't even have the original version!
THEN Squeenix announced that the + version's content would be rolled into the US release, and there was much rejoicing.

Nope! It was just a typo that I fixed now. Anyway here are more screenshots:

I'm extremely interested in this game.

so the game was released the 27th I have been playing it for a while now the battle system seems to be an updated version of 2. the only differences I notice so fan is that cancel seems to be standard and the inclusion of a short command combo (at least for ratix since he is the only one I ever use :P). anyone else play it yet, and what are your thoughts.

Comparing the towns etc with the SFC version. Are there many similarities or everything is different except the story?

I was considering getting it but playing a game in moonspeak completely ruins it for me even if it is just for a small test. If I get bored I may consider giving it a try.

everything is mostly different most of the towns are edited to be bigger though tatory is as claustrophobic as ever. most of the vibrant backgrounds from the original has been lost and the soundings just look dated. I'll just keep playing to see if they added the ougi that were left out of the SFC version
