FFIV DS crash

Post by neo_bahamut1985 »

I currently am using FFIV DS (the 90% eng patch version) on no$GBA 2.6 and when I get past the intro (where Cecil and his Redwing army are attacked) and they are about to land in Baron, the emulator saying something to the effect of "the ROM image crashed" and closes no$GBA. Well, funny thing is I saw this image on www.dsfanboy.com about the hack. Here - http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh13 ... 0a-dsf.jpg

What the crap is going on? Is there something I need to change in the config? I think it's BS, but, whatever

edit 7:32 PM - Crap. I put this in the wrong place. Could someone put this in the "emulator" section please?

What's so funny about the image? Is there any chance the site ran the rom on a DS instead of the emulator?

Okay, apparently, the bug can be avoided. Simply by skipping the intro scenes, no$gba will continue to let the game run. So, aside from text issues (overlapping) the game is playable.

What do you mean? The save type? Uh...64KB EEPROM...? Apparently tha game runs near perfect. Except for the text...makes battles very difficult. (I can read Japanese fine, but this is ridiculous) Here's what I mean. http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh13 ... dafter.jpg

Oh I didn't relise you were playing in an emulator. I played it through on the DS with a backup unit.

Sorry for not being any clearer. I should've mentioned that earlier...crap.
Well, yeah, this issue is emulator-related. By the way, you mentioned that you had the ROM on a DS backup unit? Where can you get these backup units for the DS?

Can you recommend some easy to use ones that are effecient at the same time? Playing FFIV DS w/out text issues would be quite advantageous.

any slot-1 solution (ds-cartridge) is pretty simple.

text issues would be the patch, and not the game, though.

and, i already recommended one.

also make sure you get a kingston microsd card. newegg sells 2 GB ones for the cheap.
