Bowser and his pet flower

So, why would bowser have a really larger flower collection?
Maybe he things all flowers are fire flowers and it'll help him finally use his breath to beat Mario?
Or perhaps I'm looking too much into this, and Bowser just really likes flowers, heck even his flowers grow flowers.

I bet Whispy Woods is Jealous, and don't even get me started about Wiggler.

That is quite a flower. Wiggler definitely has his work cut out for him.

I can't really figure out what the lower-left picture is.

It's the flower growing in the flower.

And seems if you try hard enough, it can still get a bit bigger.

WTH was Nintendo on when they added this?
Sure a crazy centipede with a flower on its head that gets angry when you step on it is one thing, but to have huge flowers on everything?
