How do I fit to screen (no black borders)?

Post by paragon »

Didn't see anything in the readme/faq files. Neither by searching the forums.

Snes9x will do it with a simple alt+F11.

Thanks in advance.

BTW, I've toyed with the video settings. Closest I could get was 600x480, but there was still plenty of border, especially on the left/right side.

Just use a video mode marked S. it stands for stretch.

choose 320x240, you will still have a border, but it will be tiny.

XP

640x480 was the only one I hadn't tried. That was the one.

Guess I skipped it.

Sorry guys. LOL

That's probably due to scaling artifacts. They're far less pronounced on higher resolutions.

Pick the highest S mode you can do, and they'll be a lot less offensive.
Of course, you really want to match your LCD's resolution, but that's not always possible.

Kinda funny how much changing monitor tech has changed my preferred display settings.

In a way, I miss CRTs with physical knobs to adjust the display. It was so easy to take a 640*480 unscaled image and fuck with the monitor settings to make it display right.

Then digital monitor controls made it more trouble than it was worth.

Then LCDs made it not even an option.
