Good arcade music?

Good arcade music?
I was wondering if you guys knew of any arcade games featuring good/decent music.
By good music, I mean music that is memorable and well composed.
I can only think of these titles at the moment:
- Haunted Castle (aka Akumajo Dracula, part of the Castlevania series)
- Metal Slug 1, 2, X & 3

Midnight Wanderers, the platformer in that 3-in-1 arcade game (3 wonders or smth), along with Chariot (which is its direct sequel, a shmup) and a sucky unrelated block puzzle game.
Oh, Strider too. And Ghouls 'n ghosts. The genesis ports might have done their best, but it just wasn't good enough.

I love the bg music in the Parodius series.MisterJones wrote:Sexy Parodius

The music on the 1st level is quite cool, but I found the rest was average...Agozer wrote:Shock Troopers 2nd Squad
However, pretty good suggestions so far...
- Mortal Kombat series
- Snow Bros
Double Dragon III (NES)
Megaman 3 (NES)
Wizards & Warriors III (NES)
Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2 (SNES)
Gradius 3 (SNES)
some other games from newer systems... but this thread is about either arcade arcade games, or just stuff before the n64/playstation....

It's the former to be more specific, the music thereof to be even more so.
It's insane how many i strongly agree with but couldn't think of myself.

Yeah, the first stage music in Shock Troopers is made of awesome and win, but like you said, the rest is sorta average. I still refuse to call the rest of it totally bad, though.Francis64 wrote:The music on the 1st level is quite cool, but I found the rest was average...Agozer wrote:Shock Troopers 2nd Squad

There's a special alert for that isn't there?Gil_Hamilton wrote:You fail at reading.franpa wrote:some other games from newer systems... but this thread is about either arcade arcade games, or just stuff before the n64/playstation....
Lots of it from me. It doesn't have a lot of original tracks though, that's why it hasn't been mentioned I think.megamanzer0 wrote:No love for MVC?

Probably, but I've never felt like memorizing the URLs for them.Johan_H wrote:There's a special alert for that isn't there?Gil_Hamilton wrote:You fail at reading.franpa wrote:some other games from newer systems... but this thread is about either arcade arcade games, or just stuff before the n64/playstation....
