This isn't a very good bug report, but since this is well known I guess it doesn't matter. There are timing problems with this game in the latest version. Right now the way to fix it is change the Percent Of Execute in zsnesw.cfg to I think 150%, but I can't remember the exact number, you may want to try different values.

Actually, the best way to fix it is to turn of the in-game music via the game's options menu. Do that and it'll work perfectly.

Tried both, I turned off the sound by going through Config/sound, but that didnt work, then I changed the percent thing to 150, that didn't do anything either!!!!

I switched Versions to 1.36, and 1.30, but that doesnt do anything either, could it be the rom?

You have to turn off the music in the game menu, not the emulator one.

Post results of NSRT output.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

I'm not sure if this will help, but make sure you're using the latest WIP version.
Try out CCleaner and other free software at Piriform

First off, it would be nice if you would do a search before posting. This is in the official bug topic

Also, if you read some of the other posts just doing a search for breath of fire II, you might come across this topic.

The search is your friend.

That being said, I was able to play BofII on ZSNESW 1.337 perfectly with no crashing all the way through the game. I didn't have to turn off sounds or disable effects or anything.

What if you want the music? The best () way to fix it is to grab zsnesw 1.337 from http://www.zsnes.com. Then you can have the sound if you want it.

I guess if you don't like the sound, your way would be better.

Because the WIPs are assloads better than 1.337. And frankly, not having the music is, at best, a minor detail.

I want the Sound too, a game is only less then
HALF-good with out the sound.

I would have to say this is the most often RE-posted bug I have
ever seen.
I believe some one mentioned this was a SPC timing Problem.

There's been about 80 threads about this game already. I've found that reaching a certain point in the game, the freezing stopped. I think it was around the Coliseum... From there on I was able to play the whole game through without the game freezing again. Coinicidence? :?

Get Snes9x. I've never had problems with it playing BoF2.
