I wouldn't exactly call it ignorance/stupidity, I'd just read a few things here and there and assumed this and that; and when you guys gave answers, I guess I just assumed (for some reason) that the answers, while correct, were not the ones I was looking for. I guess I just got all worried about nothing. Well, I was being rude to you guys.
I'm not sure whether or not you'll accept my apology for being so rude and disrespectful, but I don't care. That part is up to you.
Anyway, I'm sorry.
PS:
I thought some more about whether 64-bit ubuntu would be right for me, but I could never really come to a conclusion. Well, I just decided to try it.
It was a little bit faster in certain things, but overall it was basically the same. I only have 1024MiB or ram, so it's not like a 32-bit OS can't use all of my ram, and I don't really use any programs that need more than a gig of ram (I don't even need 1 gig of ram, ha!). I don't exactly do a lot of cpu-damanding things either ( except maybe use bsnes

Maybe in another 5 years when support for 64-bit OS's is better and when I actually need at least 4 gigs or ram, that I'll consider using a 64-bit OS.
In the end, I decided to just replace the 64-bit version of ubuntu I installed with a 32-bit version. (I downloaded both the 32-bit and 64-bit version of Ubuntu 8.04.1). I post this very message on Ubuntu (using firefox 3).
