Super Smash Bros: Brawl -- "Brawl+"

Super Smash Bros: Brawl -- "Brawl+"
When brawl came out a lot of the competitive community had a lot of criticism. While they loved the game certain things removed from melee seemed to place brawl lower as far as a competitive game. While all those arguments have been hashed out a thousand and one times there has been a recent development that may prove interesting to some of you smash fans, especially ones with a little bit of technical understanding.
Through the use of the "homebrew" channel on the nintendo wii, fans have been able to use game code to slightly alter the physics and moves of the game to resemble those of melee, or any really for that matter that they can figure out how to code. This has led to the use of several set codes which for example remove tripping, allow L-canceling again, wavedashing, the melee airdodge, etc. Through these few codes they have formed what they have dubbed "Brawl+"which they can play both locally and online and there are already matches and combo videos showing up on youtube.
if you are interested in this I would recommend downloading the homebrew channel
furthermore the majority of the conversations about it are being held at the Smash World Forums in General Brawl Discussion. You can also find more information on youtube or via your search engine, just search for "brawl+" and "homebrew channel"
the creation of more codes that will simulate the way melee or even smash bros 64 will help push forward both of those competitive communities tremendously.
EDIT:
As the homebrew channel doesn't work with the latest versions of the wii system update (although I'm sure that is subject to change) you can also preform this via the Zelda Twilight Princess Trick.

as far as I can tell this is the main topic on the codes

It DOES work with the latest system update. It's just that some apps might not work and that you can't install custom WADs.Panzer88 wrote:As the homebrew channel doesn't work with the latest versions of the wii system update (although I'm sure that is subject to change) you can also preform this via the Zelda Twilight Princess Trick.
Back on topic, those people modifying Brawl to make it feel like Melee should just stop trying. They have to get used to something called change.

myself not really even having used it was just passing on the word thinking it might interest some people, I guess not. To be honest I just like watching the insane tournament videos etc. but I by no means am unhappy with playing brawl as is, I can't wavedash for the life of me anyways
