Demiforce, who translated games like Final Fantasy II and Radical Dreamers has hit the big time with an Iphone game he made in his free time. His story made it on CNN:

I enjoyed Radical Dreamers.
I commend him for being successful with an iPhone game.
He's still been an ass every time I've communicated with him in 10+ years.

A lesson can be learned as well. To be successful, you need to quit ROMhacking and go do something that can make some money.

Except there are plenty of people who make a lot of money on the Internet. If money=success, then the Internet can be useful.
