Texture Packs? Was there ever was or ever will be?

Post by OxLa »

Hi I'm new to SNES emu stuff, I'm sure you all must have heard all this many times  but was there ever was or ever will be Texture Pack enhancements (like n64)? No matter how many filters we put, it just can't look good enough on 22 inch monitor (or 19 inch)... Other then this, games are cool as I remember...

No. The closest to that are Decompression Packs for games with add-on chips, but they are handled automatically by the emulator these days.

N64 emulators can support texture packs because the N64 graphics are much more high-level / independent than the SNES graphics. On the SNES, the games have more control, and the data formats are more complicated.

What creaothceann said is not covering everything that makes this idea horrible, for information.
