I'm the webmaster of Video Game Den and I would like to thank the team that put ZSNES together. The tool helped me create the SuperFamicom/Snes reviews from my site (nearly 150 tests and counting !!).
Thanks again ! I made a small donation today and I was also wondering if you'd be interested to do a link exchange...
Take care and keep up the great work !!!!
Thanks ZSNES !

Nice review format! Seeing the original box art and cart really sets it off. Of course I disagree with several of the reviews as they seem to come from a standpoint of 20/20 hindsight, rather than the feeling people had when the game came out, but that's just my personal tastes. I also noticed The Super Metroid review stated you get this nice surprise to find out Samus is a woman when she dies, but fans of the series will recall that the original Metroid reveals this fact as well (depending on how fast you complete the game, Samus will strip and wave at the screen).

Thanks
All the POVs are indeed my own personal tastes, but the game's information at the top of every page (and all the game's data) are straight non-biased descriptions. This is why I have the POVs at the bottom of each page, as a sort of 'last thoughts'. I wished more people would send me their own POVs but I only got a few
About Super Metroid, I discovered the series with this game, this is why. But again, this is my own point of view about the game and the POV section on each page was especially designed for that...
If anyone here is interested to send me his/her own Point Of View about a game, feel free to contact me and I'll be delighted to publish it (and you'll be credited for it). The more the merrier !!

Real men don't die and find samus is a girl when they clear the game.
It's written in a holy stone somewhere.
(The weird doods find out when they pull a crystal flash)

Same in Metroid 2. Pretty good looking Samus, 'specially for a GameBoy game.FirebrandX wrote:Nice review format! Seeing the original box art and cart really sets it off. After the original Metroid, Nintendo stated Samus was a girl in all their material.
Of course, coming in blind, I can see how you might not know. Possibly even assume Samus was a robot.

Actually the person most directly responsible for the majority of Metroid fans discovering Samus is a girl is Justin Bailey.
Even more funny is how Metroid and Kid Icarus were released as twin games, where Kid Icarus was the "male" game and Metroid was the "female" game. Who knew?

Not many people, that's for sure. I never got into the whole Metroid thing because I didn't play the games until I actually discovered emulators somewhere in 2003-2004, and to me it wasn't such a big deal, but I guess put into perspective of the time, Samus was the first really badass heroine.FirebrandX wrote:Actually the person most directly responsible for the majority of Metroid fans discovering Samus is a girl is Justin Bailey.
