ZSNES does Not Recognize Mouse

ZSNES fails to recognise my mouse for purposes of SNES Mouse.

Mouse is a non-brand USB Wireless mouse OR laptop touchpad. Neither work, even after activating mouse under Config > Devices and resetting the ROM.

ROM is Mario Paint:

Mario Paint        TYPE:NORMAL

VIDEO:PAL  BANK:LO CRC32:266B220E

EDIT: oh yes, it's v1.51

Did you activate the mouse in port 1 or port 2?

Mario Paint requires port 1.

Attempted each individually, then both using aforementioned method.

Have you tried turning off the devices in Ports 2-5? I just had the same problem and someone pointed it out to me in my thread. Try that and see what happens.

I say this because I have the same version of ZSNES and Mario Paint but I can use my mouse (it's a Microsoft brand wireless mouse).

When you make those changes, RESET the game.
