controller stops working correctly midway through game.

I'm using a game elements controller. or GGE909 recoil pad. anyway i have been playing ff2 and it was working great. i save stated the game, exited and left. after returning a few hours late the d-pad is very buggy. if i press down more than twice it will keep scrolling down until i press up. also pressing up is very unresponsive. i already made sure that nothing was pressed when i start up zsnes. im completely confused because it makes no sense to me for something that is working perfectly to suddenly stop

thanks i guess that is the only option. still confuses me though for it to go from working perfectly to completely broken in 2 hours

Your gamepad is cheap junk.
Lacking any input as to whether it does this in anything else, I assume that it broke.
