ROM extensions

Post by Rastanefario »

I recently downloaded a huge pack of zipped up roms. When I unzipped them, I expected a simple file, but instead I was met with a bunch of different files with different letters behind them like (U), [f2], [hiC] and the like. Considering that I'm not that pro at this, an explanation of what each letter means is what I'm looking for. If anyone on these boards is knowledgeable in the subject it would be AWESOME!

(This is my first post btw)

those aren't extensions

your windows is more than likely hiding the actual extensions.

So I take it I have no choice but to trial and error test them?

google goodsnes, read the docs.

and then do yourself a huge favor and use nsrt to get rid of the five million alternate versions you'll never need nor want.

Is there some way to get NSRT to automatically do it for me? Or do I use it to scan them and then manually delete the ones that aren't in the database?
