Wondering about the SPC700

Post by gaijinx1 »

Why does Zsnes emulate the SPC700 so ackwardly? I find it strange how Snes9xw, SnesGT and SNEse play repeated sound samples (like moving a cursor in RPGs) so accurately. I was wondering if they put something about the SPC700 in the Changelog (like the RC's). I'm an audiophile, so I'm curious about how the SPC700 will be emulated/behave in the near future. I am not asking you to release Zsnes. It's ready when it's ready.
Sony's PSP may have superior hardware, but like many other systems, it doesn't focus on quality in their games. The Nintendo DS will prevail in the gaming department!

While I do agree with you in the respect that the sound sample overlapping would be my number one choice for things to nitpick, it really doesn't help ZSNES development to be continually asking the same question and bugging the developers.

As I posted in response to this question in another thread, just check the list of updates instead of asking about which ones are happening next.
AspiringSquire wrote:gaijinx1, if you really want to know about updates to ZSNES as they happen, you should periodically visit the ZSNES Changelog on Agozer's site. Everything dated after 1.40 RC1 are the changes you haven't seen yet, unless you compile the source code yourself.
