Ok, being new to emulators I have no idea how to use the english language patch for this game, plus it seems to be running funny...not completely freezing but moving jerkily...needless to say I haven't made it past the first part yet...It also says CHSUM fail on the bottom on the screen when the game is loading...I got this copy from the (Rom site.) and have the newest version of ZSNES for windows (XP)....I have used the zelda classic website in the past and had no problems but this is tying me up, especially the frame rate or whatever and the fact that i have no idea how to apply a patch....any help would be appreciated....I also don't know if I need to use the zipped or unzipped version of the game..I'm using the WinRAR extractor...

Please edit your post so it doesn't show names of rom sites, that's against the rules and it's punished with banning.

Try using proper grammar.
Try reading the documentation.
To aply a patch, you rename the .IPS file to the same name as the same name as the file you want to patch. That is, if your ROM is bahamut.zip, name the IPS bahamut.ips. The IPS file, by default, needs to be in the same directory as the ROMs.
Do you have the WIP or the 1.36? Check in the about section under MISC in Zsnes. It should say 1.36 CVS, followed by a date in December. If not, get it by reading the sticky in the forum.
Post you system specs for further assistance in the choppyness problem. If you know how, make sure that your monitor's refresh rate is 60Hz.

Yeah... There is even a link in the Star Ocean 1.0 translation in the readme somewhere.Noxious Ninja wrote:I dunno about just the name. Besides, HotU is... different. ZSNES automatically patches your ROMs, there's simply no need to alter your files.

Prepatched rom are evil and it's a shame to distribute them.
Why ? They remove all the credit from the team(s) who made the patch. These guys worked hard, real hard on the patch, spent time and money for it to work and you don't even know who they are. Way to go.
Not including the patch's readme can bring trouble, especially when this readme file holds important data that must be read (known bugs, email address of the team, and the like).
