Linux/sound

Post by Aerdan »

Using 2.6.9-gentoo-r9 kernel and nvidia 1.0.6629 driver [for my GeForce FX5200], 768MB RAM on a 1.2GHz Duron...

Sound in Super Mario World [aside from level music] lags and is horribly mangled.

[Side note: Star Ocean's battles aren't horribly fast for me.]

Just have SDL access ALSA natively instead of through OSS.

I've also heard using it through ARTS or deleting the mcop-youruser in /tmp helps.

Again, killing ARTSd fixed the problem.
