Rom Freezing

Post by msikd »

Hello everyone, I am very new to SNES, ZSNES, emulation, and this board too (I only signed up to ask this question).

Anyways I have been playing EarthBound for a few days with no problem. Recently, randomly when I go through a door (and the screen goes black) it stays black and I have exit and restart the ROM. I can access the GUI for ZSNES but it doesn't help. This happens randomly, and usually I can get play for about 10 minutes before it freezes like this. Before today, I would play hours at a time with no problems.

Any ideas what might be going on? Is it a ZsNES or maybe a ROM problem? I don't remember where I got the ROM from, but I could probably figure it out if I need to.

I am running windows 7 and ZSNES v. 1.51

Thanks in advance

Verify your ROM is good with NSRT.
Maybe these people were born without that part of their brain that lets you try different things to see if they work better. --Retsupurae

Also try a less inaccurate emulator, like SNES9x or bsnes.

ZSNES is not the best, and there's a strong possibility of emulation glitches causing trouble.

You have your 2s, 4s, 8s, 16s, 32s, 64s, and 128s(crash course in binary counting!). But no 1s.
DirectInput represents all bits, not just powers of 2 in an axis.
