Nintendo Power is Nintendo's official game magazine. It, like most company magazines, is crap.

I suppose it's special releases of games with a special logo from a gaming magazine.

Far East of Eden Zero has a special Shounen Jump edition like that.

The Nintendo Power system was basically a kiosk in a store where you could purchase games and have them downloaded onto a special rewritable Super Famicom cartridge. Several games were released exclusively for the Nintendo Power system and some of the more popular ones were later released commercially as cartridges.

Nintendo Power used to be a good magazine when it came out. I bet most people on this board(that grew up in the Ninetndo era) had a subscription somewhere along the line to it.

All I have is the chip and dales rescue rangers issue, the star tropics one and a nintendo power stratigy guide for ninja gaiden 2. I threw away most of them and I probably shouldn't have.

Me too. But sadly, I never redeemed them because I was waiting for something "good" to purchase with them.

Hmm, I have the first NP magazine (Mario Bros. 2) plus #2, #5, #7, #26, #27, #28 (Super Mario World!) given to me by a friend a while ago.

Personally I've subscribed to and still have every single one from #32 to #104 Except for #38 with the Street Fighter II cover, dammit Jeremy Schoenecker give it back, you've borrowed it for 12.5 years!

Isn't the Nintendo Power Strategy guide for Final Fantasy a collector's item? I thought it was, but I just checked ebay and it doesn't look like it fetches a lot of money.

I tossed out all my NPs (~1991-96) for recycling about a year ago. A couple of months ago, I had this hankering to look through Benimaru Itoh's comics.

I really can't say I had a subscription to NP, but I've thumbed through a few of their magazines.

That's the one with breath of fire in it, isn't it? I got that as a free issue, and that's what got me hooked on the bof games. I also subscribed soon after that, and have most of them up to 100-something. Although my brother, when he was a baby, used to like to knock them on the floor and trample on them, so a few of them are in really tough shape. But I gave them to him now anyway. I haven't read it lately, so I don't know what it's like, but I used to enjoy it anyway.

My dad discarted most of them without my permission. He have a habit of discarting stuff without asking even if they don't belong to him and I hate that. Well at least I have the ones with the Metroid comics and Shadow of the empire comics + a video cassete of Donkey Kong Country and another or Star Fox 64 (very hilarious).

If it weren't for NP, all the rumors that EGM and Game Pro indicate would never be proven true nor false. I'd also would've never got The Legend of Zelda: Collectors Edition. FYI, it has both N64 and NES Zelda games, perfectly emulated. The N64 ports have cleaner graphics. But some say it sucks, yeah, in Europe! (Just kidding!)

Never trust a magazine that doesn't print letters critical of anything. A magazine that only gets positive letters is lying.

Riiiight... "Lying". Where do you pick up such slanderous words about NP? At least that magazine doesn't put any smutty ads like EGM, Play, GMR, or Game Pro!! BTW, are you referring to the European NP, American NP, or NP in general?

Perfectly emulated my ass. Hell, Nintendo even has a little notice while Majora's Mask is loading up about how the emulation is glitchy.

Hey DarkDragoon, I thought when they ported MM to the GC on that disk, I thought it just had sound issues? I remember that... :?

It sure does. I remember seeing a warning screen if you play MM on GCN.

More than just sound issues. It can crash sometimes when loading up a new area, from my experience.

Yeah, that and it also does seem to suffer slowdown issues.
