2 Bugs

Post by Jenia »

OK,first bug:
Happened while playing V 1.36 and didn't stop at 1.40
Game:Lufia and the fortress of doom (NTSC) (1)
Problem:At a certain point which I cannot recall for reasons I do not see,
the encounter rate has gone sky-high (monster with EVERY step) and no matter which item is used the encounter rate won't go down.

Second bug:
Happened in version 1.40
Game:Tales of Phantasia (Jap, Dejap translated)
Problem:The game won't load. when I load it it gives out a black screen and nothing happens.
I can load states,in which the music plays and the scenery is "alive",but the game won't respond to any button I press.
EDIT:Forgot to mention checksum fails in here!

To those who will help me...
thanks in advance.

That's probably because of the translation patch.

You need to add or remove a header from the unpatched ToP rom image. Use NSRT.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

That's a game bug, I'm pretty sure. I think changing zones fixes it.
FireKnight:I'm pretty sure a 1KG 24k gold brick costs less than that.

phonymike: well the same amount of raw metals used in a car costs a fraction of the price of a new car idiot. I'm gonna take away your posting privileges and replace them with my balls on your chin.

I played twice through Lufia 2 and the only bugs I found were the famous graphic garbage screens. Nothing about higher encounter rate.

Check if your rom is correct with NSRT.

Also, this is maybe simply the game itself. Lufia 1 was hard because of the monster encounter rate in some areas.

BTW, now that I think about it, Lufia 2 had no random encounters... or only on the world map.

I am playing Lufia 1,not 2!
can't you see?
and switching zones didn't help.
no matter where I go and how I get there the encounter rate stays maximized.
And...
what is NSRT?

About the one-step monster encounter, check your equipment. You might have a ring or similar item that makes monsters appear at every step you take. Unequip it and everything will be OK again.

Random encounters on the world map, wandering monsters in dungeons a-la Chrono Trigger and Earthbound. They were often part of the puzzles you needed to do in the dungeons.

You might have to use the -fix command to fix the rom image if the original is interleaved/byteswapped.

For that, the correct command is -deint.
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

Yeah, you're right. I looked at the wrong place.
