Config Files Not Saving on Mac
Games won't save, states won't save, PAR codes won't save, nothing involving a game will save.
I set up a save file folder and gave it full read and write permissions, but it just saves a file called "srm" that says it's a ZSNES document, but it doesn't save my games at all. I enabled the "sram check + save" option, but it did nothing.

Re: Config Files Not Saving on Mac
I imagine nobody's responded since most people here might not use Macs, or at least zsnes on their Macs. I think the Mac versions might be unofficial, too, so you might have to hunt down whoever did the port.

Yeah exactly. I've got a mac and I just went and got snes9x for the mac and I've never had a problem with it. So yeah, I'd recommend that you use that instead.paulguy wrote:I imagine nobody's responded since most people here might not use Macs, or at least zsnes on their Macs. Re: Config Files Not Saving on Mac
like the others, i don't have a mac, so i can't help directly, but...
what version of zsnes? what version of os x? what size is that "srm" file, and what are its permissions?
for that matter, can you give me a ls -aFl of the save dir location and then its contents? i.e. if it's called "savedir" and located in ~/.zsnes, then give me both

Code: Select all
ls -aFl ~/.zsnes
ls -aFl ~/.zsnes/savedir
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.

Permissions are read and write
ZSNES verion 1.43
OSX Lion version 10.7.4
srm filesize is "2,048 bytes (4 kb on disk)"
I'm going to guess that this is something to enter into terminal...

total 72
drwxr-xr-x 7 [my name] staff 238 Sep 14 16:13 ./

Re: Config Files Not Saving on Mac
first off, you're not using the latest version - you should try v1.51, which is linked to from this post.
let me know how that works; if there are still problems, we can continue troubleshooting.

Re: Config Files Not Saving on Mac
Downloaded latest version and it works now. Thanks. I thought I had the latest version
And I tried SNES9x, but I prefer zsnes (btw i'm too stupid to learn the name of the emulator) cause it has video filters that actually make the game look higher quality than it actually is

Re: Config Files Not Saving on Mac
Fairly sure SNES9x has video filters too.
I shall remain mute on the quality judgement, for once.

Re: Config Files Not Saving on Mac
It's possible they're a premium feature, for mac users.

Re: Config Files Not Saving on Mac
Nope they are there by default. I'm assuming that bugger is implying that the video filters don't look as good with snes9X as they do in zsnes. I honestly haven't noticed a difference.paulguy wrote:It's possible they're a premium feature, for mac users.
