Multiple IPS patches

Hi im having some trouble figuring out how to apply more than one ips patch.

as i understand ZSnES will soft patch a rom real time with a like named ips, for me im trying to patch final fantasy 3 . however i downloaded 5 seperate patches and cannot have them all named ff3.ips .
i have a seperate directory and have the patches with the game so i considered having the ips in different named zip files but on another thread the documentation indicated ZSNES would look for the first ips with a proper name it did not mention that it would continue to look for and apply all patches

I have made a copy of my ROM and dont mind permanant changes to it, is there a way i can apply all patches at once or one patch at a time but have them be permanent?

I remember hardpatching the Star Ocean beta and Star Ocean menu patches on a copy of the rom, then making a new IPS from that. It worked perfectly.

So how would i go about hardpatching the game then remaking a single IPS with all the changes. and if you hard patcht he game is it even nessicary to make a new ips?

NM Found IPSWin 2.0 patched up the rom.

for future features ZSNES should include multiple IPS patches via a like named zip file (name the zip the same as the rom and then autopatch all ips's within)

It really isn't necessary to make a new IPS, but I prefer soft-patching to hard-patching, so that was what I did.
